Malayalee From India On OTT: When And Where To Watch Nivin Pauly's Comedy Drama

Malayalee From India starring Nivin Pauly in the lead is all set to make its debut on OTT.

The film which released on May 1, opened to mixed response from film buffs. While some praised the comic content and funny one-liners, the rest criticised the pace of the film.

Directed by Dijo Jose Antony the film also stars Dhyan Sreenivasan and Anaswara Rajan in lead roles.

Malayalee From India is all set to stream on Sony LIV from July 5.

Sharing the official announcement, the official social media handle of Sony LIV posted "A hilarious & relatable Nivin Pauly film! Malayalee From India directed by Dijo Jose Antony coming exclusively on Sony LIV from 5th July".

The announcement was also shared in Malayalam. The OTT platform hasn't disclosed if the film will release in Hindi, Tamil Or Kannada languages yet.

Malayalee from India plagiarism row

After the film's release, Popular Malayalam screenwriter Nishad Koya has stated that director Dijo Jose Antony has created the Nivin Pauly-starrer Malayalee From India by plagiarising his script. The issue gained importance after he presented evidence in front of the media.

The scriptwriter also claimed he had the WhatsApp texts between Dijo and Him. He also submitted copies of their chat.

He said he announced a project (the script titled Indo-Pak) in 2021 with Jayasurya and Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui under the direction of Joshiy.

Later, during a promotional interview with a YouTube channel, producer Listin Stephen, director Dijo Jose Antony, and actor Nivin Pauly denied the allegations charges made by Nishad Koya.

Nivin Pauly stated that Nishad Koya could have spoken about the issue to Listin Stephen. He also said that he should have sought the help of film associations instead of expressing his anger on social media. He also called out Nishad for being unprofessional.

Meanwhile, Dijo Jose Antony clarified that he wasn't contacted by any one regarding the issue.
