Can Rangers find their new go-to forward?
Philippe Clement relied heavily on Cyriel Dessers last season
Among the busier of Scottish Premiership clubs in the transfer market so far this summer, Rangers continue to be linked with forward players.
Defenders Jefte and Clinton Nsiala have been signed up, while winger Oscar Cortes will return for a second loan spell from Lens in advance of a permanent move next summer.
Midfielder Mohamed Diomande's loan move from Nordsjælland has been formalised into a longer-term arrangement in this window.
But one position manager Philippe Clement has not yet recruited for is the striker role. Rangers finished last season eight goals and eight points behind Premiership winners Celtic.
Cyriel Dessers maintained the number nine role for most of the campaign as Danilo and Kemar Roofe struggled for fitness.
The Nigerian's goal return of 22 was decent enough, so much so that he forced his way into his national team and netted for the Super Eagles in March.
However, questions remain about his reliability in front of goal, while Roofe, with only two goals last term, is now a free agent. Brazilian Danilo netted six times in 21 appearances before injury ended his season in December.
Hamza Igamane, a forward with AS FAR in Morocco, has been heavily linked with Rangers lately. The 21-year-old has scored 13 times in 45 club appearances.
But the chances of Rapid Bucharest striker Albion Rrahmani, 23, moving to Ibrox have reportedly declined as his asking price has gone in the other direction.
Rangers' first competitive game of the season will be the Premiership kick-off of 3 and 4 August and they will very quickly face a Champions League third qualifying round tie. Who lines up in the number nine role is less certain.
