'I Am Ready': Krysten Ritter Hopes to Return as Jessica Jones in the MCU
Jessica Jones star Krysten Ritter is hoping for a return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She's just waiting for the call to reprise the role, putting the ball into Marvel Studios' court.
In three seasons of the Jessica Jones series that previously streamed on Netflix, Ritter starred in the titular role. The show was connected to Daredevil and other Marvel shows that made up what was called the "Defenders-Verse" at the time. Marvel Studios has since confirmed that Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and the other connected shows are canonical with the MCU. With this in mind, Ritter was asked about a potential return in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter. She shared how she would "be there in a heartbeat" if the powers that be at Marvel Studios were to give her the call.

"One hundred percent [I would return]," Ritter said. "I am ready, and I would, of course, be there in a heartbeat. She’s a character who I absolutely love, and she was a part of my life for so long. I played that character for five years, and she’s a character who’s very important to me and many women and men. So if the opportunity calls, I may or may not have an extra jacket already. (Laughs.)"

The door is certainly open for the possible return, as Daredevil stars have already been popping back up in the MCU. Charlie Cox made his return with a surprise appearance as Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home before Vincent D'Onofrio returned as Wilson Fisk in the Disney+ series Hawkeye. Both are going to reunite to lead the cast of the upcoming series Daredevil: Born Again, which will also bring back The Punisher star Jon Bernthal.

Will Krysten Ritter Return as Jessica Jones in the MCU?
Ritter's comments would suggest that she hasn't yet been contacted by Marvel Studios as of this time. However, Marvel projects are known for their secrecy, and actors typically sign NDAs to conceal their involvement. Andrew Garfield famously denied his return as Peter Parker in the months leading up to his return in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Things like this have made it forever hard to really know for sure about any actor's potential involvement in a Marvel project until it is released. With that noted, there's always a chance Ritter will pop up in Daredevil: Born Again or another MCU project coming soon.
