B.C. Guide dogs meet Stanley Park horses
We got invited here by Stanley Park Horse Carriage Tours to bring our dogs and help socialize them to this very calm horses. We have up to 20 volunteer puppy raisers and dogs in training, and a big part of the volunteer job is to socialize these dogs to all kinds of environments. So the dogs get to experience horses close up and then we're going to go on a ride on the horse carriage. We didn't have too many dogs barking, but a couple did. And so that's why we're here because they were a little nervous, they started barking and we were able to help them through. And now that dog that was barking earlier is, is there very comfortable around the horses. We have Guide Dogs for the blind. We have autism and PTSD service dogs. We have a huge need for more puppy raisers. So volunteer puppy raisers that take on a dog at 7-8 weeks and then help us raise their dog to become one of those life changing dogs.
