Bleacher Report Isn't Buying Jakobi Meyers Hype
The Las Vegas Raiders have one future Hall of Fame receiver on their roster currently in Davante Adams. However, there's a bit of talent on the team's receiving corps outside of him as well.
Truth be told, the Raiders might have one of the best second options at the position in the entire league, in Jakobi Meyers. Although Meyers' first season in Las Vegas didn't go as planned, he showed what he was capable of, and looked really impressive at times throughout the year.

Meyers has been getting a lot of hype this offseason, with Head Coach Antonio Pierce calling him an "alpha" and making the claim that he's taken a big leap this offseason.
During the 2023 season, Meyers scored eight times- a new career-high for him. He also totalled 807 yards on 71 receptions. It's important to note that he was able to obtain those numbers with a coaching change halfway through the season, as well as subpar quarterback play for most of the year.
Still, Bleacher Report thinks he won't be able to improve on that production too much in 2024. Their main arguments behind that are the other receiving options on the roster, including Tre Tucker and Brock Bowers, as well as the fact that the quarterback situation hasn't improved much, and finally, they argue that under Pierce, the Raiders will likely seek to run the ball more than they'll throw it.
These are some decent arguments. Tucker has stood out this offseason according to Pierce, and the addition of Bowers is another player that could take some targets away. Overall, while Meyers has been impressive since joining the team, only time will tell if he takes that massive leap Pierce alluded to.
