Arshi Khan: My Eid day begins with the smells of mom's delicious cooking and ends with receiving Eidi from my dad and brothers
Actress Arshi Khan, who was earlier seen in TV show ‘Shravani’, is excited to fly hometown in Indore to celebrate Eid al-Adha with family.
She said, "My Eid actually looks very different this year! I usually celebrate with my family in Indore. But I missed traveling back home earlier because of professional commitments. But I'm flying in the evening and making sure to celebrate Eid with my family tonight. My mom will be making my favourite food and my dad and brothers will be giving me Eidi. I'm excited and looking forward to the surprise."
The actress is fond of festive food.
She continued, "I'm fond of meals prepared by my mother and sisters-in-law. For as long as I can remember, my Eid day begins with the smells of their delicious cooking wafting through the house, my favourite of the traditional foods is definitely sweets like Seviyan, Sheer Khurma, Dates Halwa, Shahi Tukda, Kesar Phirni, and rice dish. I feel I’ll never be able to cook as well as they do!"
Talking ahead about the significance of the festival in her life, the reality TV star shared, "The celebration of Eid-ul-Adha also known as the festival of the Sacrifice is to commemorate Prophet Ibrahim’s devotion to God. The day usually begins with an Eid prayer, followed by celebrations with loved ones, delicious meals and exchanging of gifts as Eidi. It is also marked by the sharing of sweets and other food amongst loved ones and the less fortunate, ensuring everyone is able to eat on the blessed day."
She added, "The day is very significant in my life. The festival is an occasion of joy and peace, where people celebrate with their families, let go of past grudges and make meaningful connections with one another. It is celebrated as a commemoration of Prophet Abraham's willingness to sacrifice everything for God. On Eid al-Adha, I wish that our sacrifices are considered and prayers are answered by the almighty. Have a blessed Eid al-Adha. Eid Mubarak!"
Arshi is known for participating in Salman Khan hosted Bigg Boss 11th and 14th season. She also acted in shows like Savitri Devi College & Hospital, Ishq Mein Marjawan along with many OTT series.
