With Father’s Day just hours away, India’s wrestling champ Dara Singh, who also became a household name when he played Hanuman in Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan, is all set to get a biopic treatment.

Dara Singh’s son, Vindu Dara Singh reveals that he plans to make a film about his father. “And it will star my son Fateh, who is fighting fit and raring to go. He has personally been trained by Jackie Chan. And if I may so, if there is anyone in my family who can match my father’s personality charm and good looks, it is my son," Vindu tells Zoom.

Vindu reveals that the script for the Dara Singh biopic is ready. “We finally have a script that Fateh likes. He is extremely particular about his debut. We convinced him that there could be no better launch for him than a film about his legendary grandfather, " adds Vindu.

Vindu also opens up about this week’s release of Chandu Champion that pays rich tributes to Dara Singh. Says Vindu, “I have to see Chandu Champion the soonest. I’ve heard it is classy and sophisticated, and my father is shown to be a major influence on Kartik Aaryan’s character, Murlikant Petkar. My father, Dara Singh, is a metaphor for power, strength, and resilience. I hope my son has acquired at least some of his grandfather’s traits.”

In an exclusive interview with Zoom, the film's director, Kabir Khan revealed how the project came to him and said, "Someone randomly handed me a newspaper article and said, read this, I think you will enjoy it. And I read it. I said, this is, first I said, it can't be true. Then they said, no, this is a genuine article. I said, so then where is this person? Nobody had the faintest idea of where he was. How can it be that you don't know where he is and there's an article like this? Then I sort of forgot about it. There's no way you can make a story like this unless it's verified. But I couldn't get it out of my mind. And then, thanks to my documentary days, I just had to find out about this man."
