ALBAWABA - Just two days after the announcement that Syria's First Lady Asma Assad is suffering from leukemia, an alleged obituary paper of Syrian President Bashar Assad's wife was posted online.
The presidency announced on Tuesday that Asma Assad, 48, wife of Bashar Assad, has been diagnosed with leukemia, five years after she announced her "complete" recovery from breast cancer.
In August 2019, Syria's First Lady announced full recovery from breast cancer, which she said was discovered early, and she then underwent surgery to complete her treatment for a malignant breast tumor.

Alleged obituary paper for Asma Assad causes shock, controversy:
An alleged obituary paper circulated online carrying the name of Asma Assad left people shocked regarding the health situation of the Syrian First Lady.
In the alleged paper posted on X (formerly Twitter), a picture of Asma Assad was placed along with her full name "Asma Fawaz Akhras". As well as her children's and siblings' names were also mentioned.
The Obituary paper allegedly claimed that the death date was May 22, 2024. It also showed that condolences for men are accepted in the Arab Cultural Center in Damascus and the Syrian Presidential Palace. Meanwhile, women should go to Muhajireen castle in Damascus.
