Marcus Rashford makes Man Utd transfer stance clear as seven players 'ring-fenced' from sale
While Manchester United wouldn't stand in the way of a Marcus Rashford exit, the player himself has no plans to leave Old Trafford.
England international forward Rashford endured a tough season last term, scoring just eight times in 43 appearances. That was enough for him to miss out on a spot in England's Euro 2024 squad, with international boss Gareth Southgate going with players in better form for their clubs.
United have ring-fenced seven stars who they are not prepared to sell, but Rashford is not among that number. Goalkeeper Andre Onana is joined on the list by outfielders Diogo Dalot, Lisandro Martinez, Kobbie Mainoo, Alejandro Garnacho, Amad Diallo and Rasmus Hojlund, with everyone else fair game.
Some have suggested a move away from Old Trafford could be what Rashford needs to revive his career for club and country. That couldn't be further from the 26-year-old's plans, though.
According to The Sun, Rashford is determined to fight for his place. He scored 30 times in the 2022-23 season, Erik ten Hag's first in charge, and United's decision to stick with the Dutch manager is said to have invigorated the academy graduate.
Ten Hag's position had been in the balance after an eighth-place finish last season, with United's higher-ups holding talks with potential replacement Thomas Tuchel. In the end, though, they opted to keep faith with the former Ajax boss.
Rashford's current United deal runs until the summer of 2028, giving him time to turn things around. The club are keen to keep the forward on board, though they would consider a sale at the right price.

Ten Hag has made no secret of his thoughts about Rashford's England omission. During a punditry stint with Dutch broadcaster NOS, he pointed to club form - as well as that of Jack Grealish, who also missed out on Gareth Southgate's squad.
"Grealish and Rashford were both lacking this season. And when you are lacking, you risk not getting picked for your country," Ten Hag said, having earlier spoken about the player's on-field struggles.
"He knows, I know," the Dutchman said in April. "It has to do with himself but also to do of course with the team. I already said our attacking game has improved a lot after the winter. But before winter our attacking game was not good enough.
"I think it's always the two factors I mentioned; it's the team and it's himself. They are of course related to each other. When he is not doing the right stuff out of possession I will confront him with this. I will give arguments and also we use data."
