Amber Lyster: Perth’s real-life Lady Bridgerton graces Woman’s Day magazine

As Netflix’s hit Bridgerton is all the rage right now, a Perth woman has revealed herself as Australia’s very own real-life Lady Bridgerton.

The TV series has become a global sensation with its depiction of Regency London.

With a passion for the Regency era and costume making, 34-year-old Amber Lyster has her very own feature in Woman’s Day magazine for her enchanting hobby that takes her to themed events worldwide.

Speaking with the publication, Lyster revealed Bridgerton’s rich visuals and costumes have become her “guilty pleasure”.

“The costumes and scenery are a real feast for the eyes. Lady Danbury is my favourite hands down. She always slays,” she said.

The talented dressmaker showed her true dedication with her recent creation that took her 56 hours to make for a costume ball at Chateau de Vaux-le-Vicomte in France.

Her partner Chris proposed to her at the lavish event, cementing the pair’s titles as Princess of Perth and the Duke of Downunder online.

“This year my dress took about 56 hours to make. Chris’ costume required around 180 hours of work,” she said.

The creative is now planning her Renaissance-themed wedding for 2026.

“It won’t happen until 2026 because I have a lot of costumes to make,” she explained.
