Met Office Saturday afternoon weather forecast 29/06/2024

Hello there, welcome to your latest Met Office weather forecast. Well this weekend most of us should see some sunshine, but there's also a little bit of rain around. Most of the rain or courtesy of this fairly weak area of low pressure that will move into parts of northern England and Wales today. But either side of it, there should be some decent spells of sunshine. And naturally for most, Sunday offers a fairly dry picture, but you can see further weather fronts waiting in the Atlantic for the start of next week. So back to the here and now, you can see this area of cloud and rain across parts of northern England and Wales that may well just spread into parts of the Midlands too. At the end of the afternoon either side, as I mentioned, plenty of sunshine, however, the far north of Scotland still quite blustery here with some frequent showers coming and going, but in the sunshine, especially across the South, feeling very warm. Highs reaching around 24 or 25°. Into this evening. This area of cloud and rain gradually works its way S eastward, so it will cheer up for a time before sunset across parts of Northumberland and Cumbria. And as that area of cloud and rain tracks its way S eastwards it does weaken, so very little rainfall actually expected across the far South of the country. To the north of it, still some blustery showers across parts of Scotland. Driest weather by the end of the night across parts of northern England. Northern Ireland under the clear skies feeling a little bit fresh. Lows in most hands. City stand in double figures but in the countryside could just fall into single figures. But under the cloud. Further South, temperatures not falling much lower than 15 or 16°. So a bit of a great start across the South. Still the risk of the odd spot of rain, but it will cheer up here as the. Morning goes on better, the sunshine first thing across Wales, the Midlands, northern England, but cloud will tend to bubble up here as the day goes on. Northern Ireland initially seeing some showers, but I think as the afternoon moves in here it actually should turn a little bit drier. But I think come at the end of the afternoon, if you're looking for sunshine, the best of that will be down towards the southwestern corner, but with more of a N westerly flow tomorrow, for most of us it should be feeling fairly fresh. Temperatures in the South region around 21 or 22°, a little bit below par further north of highs not much higher than around 17 or 18°. And then a quick look into the start of next week if you see a weather front move across the UK during Monday. Fairly weak across the South, so very little rainfall here. Most of the wet weather will be confined across the North. But for most of us, a fairly grey start to the new working week. But I think come in the afternoon, we should start to see some brightness across the West and for most temperatures around or maybe just a little bit below par for the time of year. But if you want more information about the weather where you are over the coming days, you can always check out our app or our website. But for me. For now, take care and I'll see you again soon.
