Glastonbury Festival bosses have 'special headliner in mind' for 2025

Glastonbury 2025 is already on the minds of festival organisers.

Bosses are said to be considering Little Simz a potential headliner for next year's festival.

It comes after a thrilling performance on the Pyramid Stage which "exceeded everyone's expectations" and went down a storm with fans. The set, which came before headliners Coldplay on Saturday night, received rave reviews and postioned her as one of the biggest music stars in the UK.

A source said: "It was a mind-blowing performance and puts her in contention for a headlining slot without a shadow of a doubt. She has got to stand a chance." Saturday night's slot was a potentially tricky one given that the crowd was awash with Coldplay fans who had gathered early. But they were all won over by the end as she earned a rapturous reception.

“I need you to understand that you’re witnessing greatness,” she declared at the start. “I say that not with arrogance but with confidence. It took me a while to get to the Pyramid but I’m finally here!”

Organiser Emily Eavis has previously said she is "already in talks with some acts" for next year's festival. Speaking to the Glastonbury Free Press, the festival's resident newspaper, Eavis said: "We're taking a fallow year in 2026 to give the land a rest, and the festival before a fallow year is always a fun one to plan because you almost have to fit two years into one. We're already in talks with some acts for it. It's exciting."

Some fans questioned the line-up this year, saying it wasn't strong enough. The inclusion of SZA as a headliner was debated, not least as she performed at BST Hyde Park the night before. It's thought SZA was drafted in because Madonna pulled out. Other names in the mix for next year include Taylor Swift

British rock band Coldplay headlined the Pyramid Stage on Saturday night for the fifth time, cementing their performance in the musical history books of Glastonbury by becoming the first act to headline the festival five times.

Their performance featured guest appearances from Little Simz, and also included a heartfelt moment with Back To The Future star Michael J Fox who played the guitar on stage during their song Fix You.
