Biggest Browns Questions Ahead Of Training Camp
The Cleveland Browns are headed into a pivotal season for a long-suffering franchise and fanbase. They are looking to build on an 11-win season from a year ago in which they used five different quarterbacks to get to the playoffs.
With training camp just a few weeks away there are a lot of burning questions that still need to be answered before the regular-season opener at home against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, Sept. 8.

Deshaun Watson
With all the Browns gave up to get the former MVP-caliber quarterback, these questions won’t go away until they are answered.
How is his throwing shoulder? Following an injury to his shoulder last season, Watson played a few more games before electing to have season-ending surgery. His rehab is said to be going well, and he “looks like his old self” during workouts so far.
The reports are that he will be given the full green light by training camp. If he does, the next question is, can he return to anything close to the superstar we saw in Houston? Browns fans are desperate for a championship, and the only way they are going to get it is if Watson returns to his old self this season.
Nick Chubb
A gruesome knee injury in Week 2 last season cut his season short. The Pittsburgh Steelers’ Minkah Fitzpatrick went low and destroyed Chubb’s knee so badly that it needed two surgeries to correct all the damage.
Chubb’s rehab is said to be ahead of schedule and he hasn’t ruled out a return by Week 1 just yet. Even if he returns, will be the same old Chubb? Trusting a surgically repaired knee takes time.
History says it will be the 2025 season before he is truly 100 percent, but in a season where the Browns have Super Bowl aspirations, they will take what they can get from the former All-Pro.
Jerry Jeudy & Amari Cooper
Cooper is currently mired in a contract dispute with the Browns. He has openly stated he wants to get paid this year. The Browns likely want to keep Cooper, but the price has to be reasonable for the 30-year-old.
We have no doubts that a deal will get done to extend Cooper who is entering the final year of a five-year, $100 million contract he signed while in Dallas. Cooper is the only Browns player in the history of the organization to record back-to-back 1,000-yard receiving seasons.
They need him on the field.
Newcomer Jeudy has a lot of questions to answer on the field. As a member of the Denver Broncos, the knock on Jeudy was that he couldn’t say healthy and that he took plays off.
The former first-round pick out of Alabama has yet to break the 1,000-yard barrier in his previous four seasons. His best year as a pro was in 2022 when he caught 67 passes for 972 yards and six touchdowns.
With Cooper, Elijah Moore and Cedric Tillman lined up alongside him, if Jeudy can get that same production in Cleveland, that’s a win.
Training camp begins in late July. These questions and a whole lot more will be answered over the next two months.
