Jets' Rodgers Makes First Social Media Post since missing Mandatory Minicamp
New York Jets' quarterback Aaron Rodgers posted to his main Instagram feed on Sunday evening, the first such activity in 29 days.
Prior to the new photo featuring the 40-year-old field general and Chicago Bears' tight end Marcedes Lewis, Rodgers last posted on June 1. Both posts included Lewis and both were shared from UFC events. The latest one, from Las Vegas, shows a Rodgers-written caption that says "Me and Big Dog #ufc303."
After attending UFC 302 in Newark, NJ, only a few miles from his Montclair residential property, Rodgers participated in the final round of voluntary Jets' OTAs practices but subsequently skipped out on mandatory minicamp in June 11 and 12.
Reportedly having traveled internationally for an undisclosed event in Egypt, Rodgers was confirmed to be back on U.S. soil last week. Former Green Bay Packers' teammate Marquez Valdes-Scantling, who appeared on The Herd, revealed that he and the four-time NFL MVP quarterback worked out together last Wednesday in the Los Angeles area.
On Sunday, Rodgers also posted the UFC photo on his Instagram story and used it as an opportunity to thank UFC chairman Dana White for the Saturday night experience.
Rodgers and Jets' veterans are expected to report to training camp on July 23 in Florham Park.
