Lewis Capaldi has made a quiet return to Glastonbury after an emotional set last year, which saw the crowd carry him through his performance.

The beloved Someone You Loved singer, 27, performed at the festival’s Pyramid Stage in 2023, but while performing his hit track Bruises, admitted he was having voice issues and asked the audience to ‘sing with me as loud as you can’.

The Glastonbury crowd of course delivered, and the emotional moment went down in history, as Lewis struggled to sing some of the notes.

Since then, the star has largely remained out of the spotlight, though fans have been sent wild with a hint he’s preparing for his musical return.

And as he continues keeping a low-profile, he’s now been spotted at Glastonbury this year.

The festival at Worthy Farm this year sees SZA, Coldplay, a surprise set from Kasabian and Shania Twain in the Legends slot.

Lewis was pictured in the crowd bopping along to Dua Lipa’s performance on Friday night.

A source told MailOnline: ‘He met a group of friends at Dua Lipa and there was loads of hugging going on.

‘He looked like he was having the best time, finger in the air – singing along. We could all hear him. But then he left after a couple of songs with all his mates.’

Another insider told The Sun that Lewis looked ‘so happy’ and said ‘how pleased he was to be back at Worthy Farm’.

He was also reportedly spotted with A-listers including Noel Gallagher and Cara Delevingne.

During his set last year, Lewis was full of apologies, though the crowd were on hand to throw their support behind him.

‘Sorry, I’m a bit annoyed at myself,’ he said solemnly.

‘I recently took three weeks off, just because I’ve been non-stop this past year and needed a break for my head and my mental health, but I wanted to come back and do Glastonbury because it’s obviously so incredible, so I wanted to thank you all for coming out and watching us,’ he sweetly said.

‘I was s**t scared, but you really put me at ease so thank you very much.’

Needlessly apologising, he added: ‘I’m really sorry and hope you will have me back on, even though this is a s**t show.’

Following his appearance at the Somerset festival last year, Lewis announced on social media that he would be taking a break from touring ‘for the foreseeable future’, writing online that he was ‘still learning to adjust to the impact of my Tourette’s’.

The Scottish singer-songwriter detailed his health battles in a Netflix documentary last year, titled Lewis Capaldi: How I Live Now, which won an award at the National Television Awards (NTA) in September.

In the documentary, which released in April 2023, Lewis opened up about his mental health struggles and shared how the pressures of fame had impacted him.

After earning an NTA in the authored documentary category, Lewis said in a video message that it ‘means the world’, adding: ‘It never ceases to blow me away how much this documentary has connected with people and struck a chord.’
