Diana Taurasi Surprises Fans With Caitlin Clark Praise In Different Language
Perhaps not many people know that Phoenix Mercury star Diana Taurasi can speak Spanish.
When she answered a postgame press conference question on Sunday about Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark in fluent Spanish, many were surprised to hear the former WNBA Most Valuable Player respond to it in the same language (h/t Lyndsey D'Arcangelo of Awful Announcing).
Although Taurasi was born and raised in California, she is very much in touch with her Argentinian roots. Both her parents are Argentinians.
Taurasi had great things to say about Clark despite the Mercury losing to the Fever at home, 88-82. Phoenix got 19 points from Taurasi, who also racked up three rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Meanwhile, Clark posted 15 points to go along with nine rebounds and 12 assists.
The loss to Indiana dropped the Mercury back to .500 with a 9-9 record, while the Fever improved to 8-12.
