Apple’s next-generation iPhones are months away. The iPhone 16 series may debut later this year around September. Similar to the iPhone 15 series, the new iPhone series may offer four smartphones – iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. The rumour mill has been churning leaks about expected features and design of the Apple iPhone 16 series. Here's what to expect

Apple iPhone 16 series design

On the design front, the iPhone 16 series is said to drop traditional physical buttons with capacitive, touch-sensitive buttons that simulate the feel of pressing a real button through haptic feedback. The smartphones may also differ in the camera design. As per rumours, the handsets may offer vertically aligned camera modules, instead of the current ones.

In addition, the Action button which comes with the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max may come to standard and plus models with iPhone 16 series.

As far as the operating system is concerned, the new iPhone series will run on the iOS 18 unveiled in June this year. On the processor front, the base models – iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are said to come powered by Apple’s A18 chipsets, while the Pro models - iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max may be equipped with A18 Pro chipset.

On the display front, the iPhone 16 series may come with some display features change as well. The iPhone 16 and 16 Plus may retain the display size of 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch, but could see a jump in the refresh rate.

The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are tipped to come with a bigger screen size of 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch.

Apple iPhone 16 series may see a jump in the battery capacity, offering longer battery life.
