UGC-NET, CSIR UGC-NET, NCET 2024: New Exam Dates, Pattern, and Schedule out at nta.ac.in

Amid all the drama surrounding competitive exams, the National Testing Agency (NTA) on Friday finally announced the new dates for all the cancelled and postponed examinations, including the UGC-NET June 2024 exam, Joint CSIR UGC NET exam, and NCET (National Common Entrance Test) 2024 exam.
UGC-NET 2024 New Exam Schedule
According to the notice, the UGC NET June 2024 exams will be held from August 21 to September 4. The UGC-NET determines eligibility for the Junior Research Fellowship, assistant professor appointments, and PhD course admissions. This year, the exam was initially conducted offline on a single day. However, the rescheduled exam will return to the earlier pattern of a Computer Based Test (CBT) spread over two weeks. This decision to cancel the exam was taken following the reports to the education ministry that the exam’s integrity was compromised. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan revealed that the question paper had been leaked on the darknet and circulated on the Telegram app. The matter is currently being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation.
CSIR UGC-NET 2024 New Exam Dates
The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) UGC-NET, postponed due to the controversy, will now be held from July 25 to July 27. This exam is necessary for PhD admissions in various scientific fields such as Chemical Sciences, Earth Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, and Physical Sciences.
NCET 2024 Exam Pattern and New Date
The National Common Entrance Test (NCET) for the four-year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) was postponed just hours before its scheduled start on June 12. It will now be conducted on July 10. This test is for admission to select central and state universities, including IITs, NITs, RIEs, and government colleges.
The All India Ayush Post Graduate Entrance Test (AIAPGET) 2024 will proceed as scheduled on July 6, 2024.

The Ministry of Education decided to cancel the UGC-NET exam conducted by the NTA on June 18 in different cities to keep the exam process fair and transparent. With all the criticism about irregularities in NEET-UG and NET PhD entrance exams, the Centre has set up a panel to make sure exams run smoothly and fairly through the NTA. While NEET is being investigated for several alleged issues, the UGC-NET was cancelled because of integrity concerns. The CSIR-UGC NET and NEET-PG exams were also cancelled as a precaution.
