Tayto recalls some products due to possible presence of golf ball fragments
The products being recalled are all dated best before 21 August 22 August and 23 August 2024.
TAYTO HAS ISSUED a voluntary recall notice for some of its product after fragments of a golf ball were found to be present in “a small number” of its crisp packets.
The brand said it believes the golf ball may have inadvertently been harvested with its potatoes and is recalling some of its products as a precautionary measure.
The products being recalled are all dated best before 21 August, 22 August and 23 August 2024. The products being recalled are:
- Tayto Cheese & Onion 37g
- Tayto Salt & Vinegar 37g
- Tayto Cheese & Onion 6 pack (6x25g)
- Tayto Variety 6 pack (6x25g)
- Tayto Cheese & Onion 6 pack flashed €2.50 (6x25g)
- Tayto Variety 6 pack flashed €2.50 (6x25g)
- Tayto Cheese & Onion 10 pack flashed €3.75 (10x25g)
- Tayto Cheese & Onion 12 pack (12x25g)
A spokesperson for Tayto said: “This precautionary recall has been initiated in the best interests of our consumers and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
The company said it is working closely with the Food Safety Authority of Ireland and with customers “to ensure the potentially affected product is no longer available for purchase”.
