Bills Rookie Projected as 'Instant-Impact' Player Next Season
The Buffalo Bills had their first 1,000-yard rusher since LeSean McCoy last season, as James Cook broke out to the tune of 1,122 rushing yards.
However, Buffalo added some additional talent to the backfield in a move that NFL Network predicts could result in some "instant impact."

The site recently released its projected All-Rookie Team and included Bills rookie running back Ray Davis as one of 11 offensive selections. NFL Network sees Davis, who Buffalo selected in the fourth round, as an immediate contributor this season while playing behind Cook in the backfield.
Here's what the site had to say about including Davis:
"Davis could be the thunder to James Cook's lightning in the Bills offense, giving Buffalo a more powerful one-two punch than it had with Cook and Latavius Murray in 2023. The rookie will thrive in the red zone, taking some of the pressure off quarterback Josh Allen, who ran for 15 scores last season (Cook had just two rushing touchdowns). Defenses filling the box against Davis on early downs could be surprised by his ability as a receiver out of the backfield."
Davis has some experience not matched by many other rookie running backs. He has five collegiate seasons under his belt, playing two years apiece with Temple and Vanderbilt. He posted a career-best 14 rushing touchdowns during his only season with Kentucky this past year.
