Texas man could set world record for his Selena memorabilia collection
Andrew Longoria, of Corpus Christi, will be in Lake Jackson on Saturday where Selena fans can see his extensive collection of 1,300 items.
LAKE JACKSON, Texas — Fans of the"Queen of Tejano Music" can see Andrew Longoria's collection at the Lake Jackson Historical Association on Saturday, June 29, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The extensive collection of 1,300 items includes rare Selena dolls, perfumes, boutique items, and much more.

Longoria said his grandmother, who recently passed away, inspired him to start the collection because she was a passionate collector of Elvis memorabilia.
Admission to the Saturday record attempt is free and Longoria will be on hand to answer questions about his collection.
“We are thrilled to host this incredible collection and the Guinness World Record Attempt that will celebrate and honor Selena Quintanilla,” Lindsay Scovil, executive director of the Lake Jackson Historical Association, said. “This event is not only a tribute to Selena’s contributions to music and culture but also a celebration of the vibrant community that continues to cherish her memory.”
The family-friendly event will also include food trucks and activities for kids.
Selena Quintanilla was born in Lake Jackson, south of Houston, on April 16, 1971. She would have turned 53 this year.
She was only 23 when she was gunned down by her fan club president in Corpus Christi on March 31, 1995.
Selena's legacy lives on through her music with fans worldwide and she's especially beloved in her native Texas.
