King Frederik and Queen Mary joined by children for 'special mission' overseas
King Frederik and Queen Mary have been joined by two of their four children for a "special mission" on the second day of their official visit to Greenland.
The royal couple and their twins Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine, 13, visited a new sound station run by Arctic Station from which research will be conducted into sea mammals in Disko Bay.
The royals were briefed on the workings of the station which will focus in particular on whales in the sea around Qeqertarsuaq.

In a series of photos shared on their official social media channels we see Frederik, 56, and Mary, 52, standing with their children.

All four royals are dressed warmly as they pose together. In another photo we see Frederik driving a boat.
Afterwards the royals arrived by the Royal Yacht Dannebrog at the King's Bridge in Qeqertarsuaq, where they were welcomed by Mayor Ane Hansen and members of the municipal council.
In Qeqertarsuaq, the King and Queen met with citizens on the town's football field. From the football field.

"Here His Majesty also started a race, where Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine participated, among others," it was explained in the post.
The race is called the Family Mile and is a regular event on the island.

Afterward, King Frederik and Queen Mary traveled to Qaanaaq in North Greenland where they first attended a reception at Town Hall before attending a coffee meeting with residents in Qaanaaq's sports hall.

They then visited Aasiaat where they took part in a reception at Aasiaat Museum, later walking to Niels Egedes Plads where they watched music and dance performances.
The royal couple were then joined by Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine as they boarded the Royal Ship Dannebrog to travel overnight to Qeqertarsuaq.
