The Los Angeles Chargers are set to undergo significant changes under new head coach Jim Harbaugh and offensive coordinator Greg Roman. Wide receiver Joshua Palmer is optimistic about the team's shift in strategy, which will place a greater emphasis on the running game to complement their passing attack led by quarterback Justin Herbert.
Palmer, now one of the more experienced receivers on the team at just 24 years old, is ready to adapt to the new game plan. Last season, he was Herbert's third-most targeted receiver, racking up 581 yards and two touchdowns on a struggling 5-12 Chargers squad.
"You can't run unless you can throw and you can't throw unless you can run," Palmer said via Chargers.com. "The run and the pass compliment each other so we know we have to be good in the run game."
The Chargers' disappointing season led to the firing of former head coach Brandon Staley and general manager Tom Telesco. Harbaugh and new general manager Joe Hortiz are now tasked with turning the team around and erasing the memory of a humiliating 63-21 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders late last season.
