Crazy Ex-Girlfriend star Rachel Bloom secures role in Frasier reboot, playing iconic agent's daughter
Rachel Bloom, the creator and star of 'Crazy Ex-Girlfriend', is set to make a guest appearance in the second season of the 'Frasier' reboot.
She'll be playing Phoebe Glazer, the daughter of Frasier Crane's agent, Bebe Glazer, portrayed by Harriet Sansom Harris. Harris' character is known for her dramatic flair and outrageous Machiavellian manoeuvres, stopping at nothing to get what she wants.
Paramount describes Phoebe as having inherited her mother's indomitable charm and possessing a magnetic personality with a taste for the finer things.
The reboot follows Dr Frasier Crane, played by Kelsey Grammer, as he returns to Boston, Massachusetts, facing new challenges and forging new relationships. It was recently revealed that Kelsey's daughter, Greer Grammer, 32, will play a significant role in the second season.
As reported by Variety, she will portray Alice, the daughter of Frasier's former radio producer Roz, played by Peri Gilpin. Alice, now in her late twenties, has inherited some of her mother Roz's free-spirited ways and has moved to Providence to study architecture. She is eager to catch up with Frasier's son Freddy and potentially complicate his romantic plans.
Kelsey has a daughter, Greer, with his ex Barrier Buckner, and his daughter Spencer, 40, from his marriage to ex Doreen Alderman, is also an actress who has appeared alongside him in Lifetime's 'The 12 Days of Christmas Eve'. The former 'Cheers' star shares two children, Jude Gordon, 18, and Mason Olivia, 21, with his ex-wife Camille Grammer, and has three younger children, Auden, five, Kelsey, seven, and Faith, nine, with his current wife, Kayte Walsh.
He has expressed pride in his children's choices without having pushed them into the entertainment industry, telling Variety: "Kayte and I were talking about how it's really something that a child would follow in their father's footsteps." "To think that all my kids, at least the ones that have a hand in the air, are ready to take responsibility for their lives, are all drawn to this industry. And she said, 'That's something to be proud of.' So, I wrote that in the book."
