Following the thrilling India vs England semi-final in the T20 World Cup 2024, Mahindra once again took to X to share his excitement and a personal anecdote about his lucky 'Axar shades'.
Mahindra's post was a continuation of a story he began in 2021. Back then, he had humorously shared his plan to purchase a pair of sunglasses to celebrate a series win by India, dubbing them "Axar's shades" in honour of cricketer Axar Patel. In his original post, Mahindra joked about wearing the shades while watching the match on TV, despite his wife's skepticism about his quirky good luck charm. He also shared a photo of the shades.
The business tycoon revisited his old post with an update. He proudly noted, "Remember my good luck charm - my 'Axar' shades? Well, they were put to good use tonight." This update came after India's impressive victory over England at Providence Stadium in Guyana. India won the match by 68 runs after England won the toss and opted to bowl first.
