Popular '90s singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya’s voice was synonymous with Shah Rukh Khan. He gave his voice to songs like "Tauba," “Woh Ladki Sabse Alag Hai,” "Baadshah O Baadshah," and "Tumhe Jo Maine Dekha," among others, which featured SRK and were hits. However, one song that stands out in their collaboration is Yes Boss’ "Chaand Taare," one of Shah Rukh's most popular songs in his illustrious Hindi cinema career spanning three-decades. Abhijeet recently spoke about recording the song and its popularity, which seems to mirror SRK’s journey to stardom
“It’s not a song. Jaise aap ek anthem ko gaana nahin bol sakte, jaise Shankar Mahadevan ka ek gaana hai Sabse Aage Honge Hindustani, it’s not a song, it’s an anthem, wo gaana ban gaya hai (You can't call an anthem a song. Shankar Mahadevan's track Sabse Aange Honge Hindustani is not a song, but an anthem. It has now become the song)," Abhijeet shared in an interview with Pinkvilla.
Referring to devotional compositions like "Om Jai Jagdish Hare" and "Mangal Bhawan Amangal Haari," Abhijeet Bhattacharya noted that these began as songs and later became ‘aarti' while comparing the impact "Chaand Taare" has had on people over the years. According to Abhijeet, "Chaand Taare" is an "anthem" for ambitious people which continues to inspire and motivate those who dream big. "...Waise hi Chaand Taare, har industrialist, her politician, her celebrity, jisko ek restaurant main bhi ek success chahiye..unke liye anthem hai ye (Similarly, Chaand Taare is like an anthem for every industrialist, every politician, every celebrity and even the restaurant owners aspiring for success in their lives),” the singer added.

Abhijeet Bhattacharya, who recently sang “Thame Dil Ko” in Panchayat 3, spilled the tea on the creation of the iconic track. "Ye bana kaise I can’t believe Javed Sahab ne likh diya (Still blows my mind how this came together when Javed Akhtar penned the lyrics)," he recalled. The singer then recalled Akhtar saying, "Maine toh likh diya bhai, gaana tum banao bhai, hum kuch nahin kar sakte humne likh diya hai (Job done, my friend. Now you weave the magic with music. There's nothing more I can do - I wrote the words).” Abhijeet then went on to shower praise on composer duo Jatin-Lalit for crafting the masterpiece.
The song's legacy? The song became synonymous with Shah Rukh Khan's rise to Bollywood royalty. There's that unforgettable scene where a young SRK dances in front of Mannat - his future home. Fans have dubbed it a real-life "manifestation," a constant reminder that dreams can turn into reality.
