Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has temporarily relocated to a rented house in Jalandhar in preparation for the upcoming bypolls, a move that has drawn sharp criticism from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). BJP Punjab President Sunil Jakhar accused CM Mann of following in the footsteps of other Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders by residing in what he termed as another "Sheeshmahal," a term he used to describe a luxurious residence.

Jakhar remarked, "They claim to be Aam Aadmi (common man) but are staying in Sheeshmahals." He further alleged that the Chief Minister's new accommodation in Jalandhar exemplifies the AAP's hypocrisy.

Jakhar's comments come amid growing political tension as the bypolls in Jalandhar approach. According to sources, CM Mann has moved into the rented house to oversee and manage the party's campaign efforts more closely.

The AAP has responded to these allegations with Minister Aman Arora questioning why Congress's Charanjit Singh Channi and BJP's Sunil Jakhar were concerned about the CM's living arrangements. He said that the focus should be on discussing development rather than Mann's residence.
