Jim Chalmers has done a ‘good job’ at ‘halving the rate of inflation’
Labor MP Andrew Charlton says Treasurer Jim Chalmers has done a “good job” at “having the rate of inflation”.
Australia’s inflation rate rose from 3.6 per cent to 4 per cent in May.
Markets are now predicting a 67 per cent chance of a rate hike in August.
“The facts are these: Jim Chalmers has done a good job halving the rate of inflation since we came to office,” Mr Charlton told Sky News Australia.
“At the same time, he’s delivered two budget surpluses, and we have the most resilient labour market for any first-term government in Australian history.”
