WHAT’S SO SPECIAL ABOUT IT?
Bright Tank Brewing’s latest collab is called Leed The Way — and it’s not just a nod to the location of the Oxford Street bottleshop that helped create the brew.
This is Bright Tank’s second successive collaboration with bottle shop owner Simon Thai in recent months, and it’s fair to say they also lead the way when it comes to tropical, hazy ales.
This tinnie has a tonne of tropical fruit on the nose — think pineapple, stone fruit and melon — and pours a bright, golden hazy hue with a light-coloured, foamy head.
The first sip is in line with the aroma — light, bright and tropical — but there’s more to this tinnie than meets the eye (or the nose).
That brightness dissipates and is balanced by a light to medium hoppy bitterness (with an IBU of 20) that really rounds out the flavour profile.
The hop trio of mosaic lupomax, simcoe and Idaho 7 give this brew a tropical taste without letting it tip over into sweet.
If you like your hazies with a slight amount of bitterness to finish off each sip, this is the one for you.
It’s refreshing, while still having some guts.
SHOULD I SHARE IT?
And at 6.4 per cent ABV, you’ll want to keep an eye on how many you keep for yourself (and how many you share with your mates).
