What time is the Carabao Cup draw? Ball numbers and TV info for 2024/25 first round draw
We might still be in June and in the midst of Euro 2024, but excitement is already building for the upcoming season.
Fixture lists for both the Premier League and EFL clubs have now been released, though one part of the jigsaw is still to be decided. That is the Carabao Cup, otherwise known as the League Cup, which is run by the EFL.
Liverpool beat Chelsea in last year's final, to win their final piece of silverware under legendary boss Jurgen Klopp. There have been three different winners in the last four years, with the Reds now the competition's most successful club.
The seven top-flight sides involved in European competition will not enter until the third round stage, while the other 13 plus Luton and Burnley will be in the draw from the second round. Here, Mirror Football brings you all you need to know ahead of Thursday's draw.
When is the Carabao Cup first round draw?
The draw for the first round matches will take place at 11.30am on Thursday, 27 June. In the first and second round of this season's tournament the draw will continue to be regionalised.
That means there will be 32-team southern section and 38-team northern section drawn against another side from their region. The ties will then take place in the midweek commencing 12 August, the first week of the EFL campaign and ahead of the opening day of the Premier League.
How to watch
The draw will be screened live on Sky Sports News, with the broadcaster also hosting a live stream on their website and on the Sky Sports App.
Mirror Football will also be providing live coverage of the second-round draw so you can keep up to date with the draw and all the fall-out.
