Cameron Munster bemoaned Queensland's slow start to their MCG horror show against New South Wales, but was keen to point out questionable refereeing on Wednesday night.

The Maroons have hit an Origin crisis after being slammed 38-18 by their arch rivals following an embarrassing performance in Melbourne, in which the Blues entered half time 34-0 up.

Billy Slater's side were unable to halt the Blues onslaught in the early goings of the game, with NSW awarded set restart after set restart, and they made the pressure count.

But footy fans flooded social media to criticise the refereeing of experienced official Ashley Klein, with the Maroons consistently falling foul of the rules in the referee's eyes.

And Munster made a pointed reference to Klein's performance as part of the punditry team post-match, with the magical five-eighth playing no part in the series due to injury.

'The 50/50 calls didn't go our way tonight,' he said.

'They played harder, tackled harder. That's the simple game of footy.

'They were dominant tonight, the Blues, unfortunately. We played some really good footy at the back end of that game.

'It was too little, too late.

'Not ideal, but I'm sure they will get the boys up at Suncorp and Gus nailed it on the head, first game, second game, doesn't really matter now.

'Got The Decider in Brisbane and got a good record there.

'Hopefully we can hold it.'

NSW have not won a decider in Brisbane since 2005 but they will go to Suncorp Stadium brimming with confidence after bullying the Maroons off the park.

Queensland whizz Reece Walsh was barely sighted as the Blues cruised to a 34-0 halftime lead with Brian To'o and fellow winger Zac Lomax scoring two tries each.

The Maroons showed a semblance of a second-half fightback but they were unable to reel in a dominant NSW side.
