DIY Porch Swing
Hey there, this is April with Walker News and I've been building port swings. I built my first one a few weeks ago whenever my mom requested one, but I didn't. I didn't make a video because I didn't know if anybody would be interested in seeing it, but I've had a couple people since then make a comment that they would like to see it. So here's a video for you. The the porch swings. I've recently have been requested to make three of them for Mother's Day is coming up. This one's actually for my for my sister. But it's made out of cedar. It's not my design. I had a porch swing I bought maybe 5-6 years ago and it was made out of pine and it just kind of deteriorated over the years, even with me sealing it. And so whenever I decided to build them, I decided to make it out of cedar. And so it's very lightweight, but it's also weather resistant. It has a contour bottom and backing. So it's very lightweight and comfortable as you can see white arms cup holders. Beer holders, whichever you prefer. And then here I have actually burned in names on this one. I have their two names as well as the heart that you saw where I cut out just a jigsaw. And then on other ones, I have a Giga Maggie's, and then their other names burned in. So it's very customizable. It makes a really good present if you have somebody special that you want to make a port swing for. And I guess that's it, really. I have a tutorial already put together and posted on my blog if you're interested in making one but don't know how. It's a very simple process. I did kind of fancy it up a little bit just by rounding over the edges, but you could very well make this pore swing with just a drill and a jigsaw. So don't be intimidated. Even though it looks like a large and big project, it's a it's quite simple actually. So anyways, check out the post if you want, and I'll be posting the other portionings that I've botched out this weekend to just kind of give you a variety on how you can kind of customize them. So anyways, I guess until next time. See ya.
