Two Chinese tourists dead after tour bus overturns in Genting Highlands
Two Chinese nationals were killed when a tour bus overturned while travelling downhill from Genting Highlands on June 29.
The bus was carrying 21 people, including the driver, when the accident occurred at about 10.40am. According to the Star, three of them were local men, with the rest being Chinese nationals - seven women and 11 men.
Twenty firefighters arrived at the scene at 10.57am, Pahang Fire and Rescue Department deputy director of operations Ismail Abdul Ghani told The New Straits Times (NST).
The two victims were believed to have been trapped in their seats during the accident, and died instantly, reported NST. The other 19 on the bus were injured, but managed to exit the vehicle following the accident.
The Bentong Fire and Rescue Department confirmed the accident, and is conducting rescue operations.
