They have dubbed the party the Gen Z Alliance Party of Kenya and declared themselves the leaders of the Gen Z movement.
Did Gen Zs ask for party?
The five young people led by Annette Barasa, the 17-year-old who went viral for telling Raila Odinga to keep off the Gen Z protests, recorded a video introducing their party and asking for maximum support from fellow Gen Zs.
"You asked for a party, and your party shall be formed. All we ask from you is when you are called upon to support your Gen Z leaders, support us wholeheartedly," said one of them.
Youths on X dismisses Gen Z Alliance Party
The video elicited massive reactions, with youths on X criticising them for taking the anti-Finance Bill 2024 protests to shine.
"...Who appointed you our spokesperson? They even have a logo. If you are seeing your friend here, tell them to stop the nonsense," @5peopleke captioned the video.
@alexis_cyn:
"They want so bad kuitwa heroes."
@HeroWarsWeb:
"Where are we dropping? Dominion! You know what's better than fighting monsters? Fighting monsters in a team! Find your guild and get to work in Hero Wars."
@GratiaDonum:
"If they were the leaders, they could have been abducted by now anyway. Our movement has no leaders apart from Jacob Juma. Hawa ni sarakasi but tuko pamoja."
@RasJohnNjui:
"Let them parade themselves as leaders so they can keep DCI occupied."
@comagafrica:
"This is how bad politicians start, self-appointed officials."
