'Not Happy With Myself': Leon Draisaitl Dives Into His Stanley Cup Final Performance

EDMONTON -- Leon Draisaitl isn't one to mince words.

A prime example of that was when the Edmonton Oilers' alternate captain spoke to the media this morning prior to Game six. When speaking about the team's ability to bounce back this postseason he touched on his own performance lately, "obviously not happy with myself and the way I'm playing. I haven't found my game, haven't found my legs."

There are two things that I have noticed about Draisaitl's game in the Cup Final. One, he isn't moving with the same pace he did to kick off the postseason. Two, his offensive production has also dried up.

Draisaitl talked about needing to "find his legs" and I would agree with that statement. There were many games in the first two rounds where he would take over. The combination of a higher pace of play and his ability to be strong on the puck is a deadly mix in the playoffs.

There is a night and day difference in points for Draisaitl from the first two rounds to the Western Conference Final and the Cup Final. In the 12 games he played over the first two rounds he registered 24 points.

In his last 11 games he has six points.

When Draisaitl was asked if his revolving door of wingers or the way the Florida Panthers are playing has affected his production he simply said, "it has nothing to do with those."

One way or another the Oilers will have the most success if everyone pulls on the rope, including Draisaitl.
