Tasmania and ACT are ‘entirely powered’ on renewables
Smart Energy Council Chief Executive John Grimes says both Tasmania and the Australian Capital Territory are “entirely powered” on renewable energy.
“In South Australia there are times of the year where there’s so much rooftop solar alone that the entire South Australian economy [is] powered on rooftop solar alone,” he told Sky News Australia.

“In the national grid today we have 40 per cent renewables, renewables plus batteries for the short term and long term energy storage.”
