Fermoy Musical Society hold exhibition in Fermoy Library
A photographic and memorabilia exhibition for Fermoy Musical Society recently opened in Fermoy Library.
The exhibition which is part of their centenary year celebrations features 100 years of pictures and it will continue until Saturday June 29.
The exhibition boasts an array of precious memorabilia that has been gathered meticulously over the past few decades including a wonderful tribute to Cara O'Sullivan who performed with Fermoy Musical Society in the 1983 production of The Merry Widow.
The official opening of the exhibition was held on Saturday, June 22 by Independent councillor William O'Leary, whose family are immersed in the history of the Fermoy Musical Society.
Fermoy Musical Society have held a number of events this year to celebrate their centenary year.
Fermoy Musical Society recently launched their centenary book “Celebrating 100 years, 1924 to 2024” before a huge crowd in Fermoy Community Youth Centre.
The book contains 100 years of stories, photographs and anecdotes of the society which is the third oldest in the country.
