PRETORIA - Several roads around the Union Buildings in Pretoria are closed ahead of Wednesday's presidential inauguration.

Isaac Mahamba from the Tshwane Metro Police Department said starting 3am, several roads will be closed until 6am Thursday morning.

"We advise motorists to use alternative routes," he said.

"TMPD and other law enforcement agencies will be deployed to assist the traffic."

He advised residents in streets affected by the closures to collect permits to access their property.

Proof of residence will be required.
