It’s all happening at Fenaa Alawwal…

Riyadh’s incredible cultural hotspot Fenaa Alawwal is playing host to a wonderful exhibition exploring the near future as it approaches us. Welcoming to “Unfolding the Embassy.”

On until Sunday September 1, the exhibition focuses on a rediscovery of the human condition in the year 2040.

The exhibition features the works of contemporary artists from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Egypt, Palestine, Bosnia, Zambia, and Belgium, presenting their interpretations of the current and future conditions of the human condition.

Situated on a Space-X satellite orbiting around meta-earth, the exhibition showcases the planet decomposed due to environmental failure. Bringing together works of installations, videos, photography, and print media that address the state of the globe in relation to the economy, Anthropocene, and AI.

Participating artists include Dima Srouji, Abbas Zahedi, Aseel Alyaqoub, Ahmad Hammoud, Nolan Oswald Dennis, Jerry Galle, Phi Studio, Lana Cmajcanin, Ahaad Alamoudi, Federico Acciardi, Peter Bogaczewicz, Naif Alquba, and Dia Mrad.

Located in the Diplomatic Quarter (DQ), the cultural and creative hub is housed inside the historic building of the former headquarters of Al Awwal Bank, the first commercial bank to operate in the Kingdom.

As part of Vision 2030 efforts to promote “culture as a way of life” and to create opportunities for global cultural exchange, the Saudi Ministry of Culture has repurposed the building as a multidisciplinary cultural space.
