Rahul Dev and Mugdha Veira Godse host a devotional evening in Delhi

To celebrate the singing debut of Mugdha Veira Godse, Rahul Dev and Mugdha hosted a devotional evening in Delhi. After acting in films like Fashion, Bezubaan Ishq, Satyagraha and many others, Mugdha recently sang a devotional song and the actress shared that singing happened to her by chance.

“This song became possible with the blessings of my spiritual master. He came up with the 108 names of Krishna, he was the one who gave the melody and guided me. I am blessed that it happened. When your guru tells you something, you just follow that path, so I never planned singing. This is not just a bhajan, this is something I connect with and as an artiste I think this has been a divine experience,” she said.

Mugdha added, “We compiled the bhajan with the help of my guru. I went to meet him during the lockdown in Canada and when I went there they were gathering 108 names of Krishna. After we did that, he said that it needs a melody and I remembered a dhun that he sang once. So this was how we started compiling the bhajan.

I first time sang it in Goa in a satsang when he insisted. After few months I recorded it. I wanted to add flute music to it and we requested flautist Rakesh Chaurasia, who also won the Grammy this year. He was very kind to help us.”

Rahul, who was joined by many of his friends like JJ Valaya for the celebrations, said, “I feel blessed that we got to celebrate this evening today. Though I am not a singer, but maybe, I will join Mugdha next time.”
