These days, most laptops offer at least 512 GB of internal storage. However, this storage space fills up fairly quickly. Samsung has a new solution for this––the FIT Plus––which can add up to 512 GB of additional storage to your laptop externally.
Samsung's FIT Plus is one of the most compact flash storage devices from the company, designed for laptops but also compatible with other devices like smart TVs and all-in-one (AIO) PCs. Despite its small size, resembling a wireless mouse dongle, it can provide up to 512 GB of storage.

When you attach a regular flash drive and leave it on the device, there is always the risk of accidental bumps, which can not only break the storage device but can also permanently damage the USB port. In contrast, the highly compact FIT Plus can be plugged in and forgotten. For those who need to move it across devices, it also features a tiny hole to attach a lanyard or add it to a keychain.
Unlike most flash drives, the Samsung FIT Plus offers excellent read/write speeds of up to 400MB/s when paired with a laptop that supports the USB 3.2 Gen1 standard. This means it can transfer a 4 GB file in under 10 seconds.
While the company says the FIT Plus is also meant for Mac, this primarily applies to slightly older MacBooks, as most modern Macs launched over the last five years do not come with a USB-A port. If Samsung is pitching this for Mac users, it should definitely release a USB-C version, which can then be used with iPhones, iPads, and even Android smartphones.
The Samsung FIT Plus flash drive is available in 64 GB, 128 GB (Rs 4,948), 256 GB (Rs 7,398), and 512 GB storage capacities. It comes with five-proof protection, including resistance to x-rays, water, extreme temperatures, magnetic fields, and shock. This makes it a great add-on for laptop users, especially for those whose laptops do not support internal storage expansion.
