Albanese and Minns government on ‘unity ticket’ with renewable energy
Labor MP Andrew Charlton says the Albanese government and Minns government are on a “unity ticket” regarding renewable energy.
The NSW government says extending the lifespan of the state’s largest coal power station to 2027 will ensure an orderly exit from coal-fired power to ensure the lights stay on for homes.
“We want to move towards renewables as quickly as possible and we don’t want these power stations to stay open a day longer than they need to stay open," Mr Charlton told Sky News Australia.

“But we also don’t want to close them a day earlier than we should if that’s going to jeopardise security or price.”
