Why Lethal doesn't want Origin in AFL
Well, as we know, the NRL State of Origin came to the MCG last Wednesday and I got 90,000 people. Now whenever this happens, the football fraternity gets caught at this juvenile envy that the kid next door has got a really nice bike. How come we can't have that bike, you say to your mum and dad? Now, the reason the NRL works in the NRL, it's two basic reasons, NSW and NSW and and Queensland are the only two rugby league states. So the the rivalry is incredible, it's outstanding. Another thing that happens in the NRL, players and clubs prioritise playing state level over club level. This is never going to happen in the AFL. We've got a national competition, we play footy all over Australia. Even if you say you've the main footy stage in the South, the Victoria SA and West Australia like who plays who? Everyone tries to work out a way to make State of Origin work in the AFL, forget about it. If you want to do it every few years, great, just for the sake of it. But our national competition gets your 80 + 1000 at the MCG quite regularly because. Our vibrant national competition is the best standard of that sport. Well, State of Origin is the best standard in the NRL and they only play that three times a year. So I kind of think, yeah, we'd always like the little kids bike next door as well. But what we've got is better because we get massive crowds week in, week out and in our sport, our national competition is the best there is. Lady, that's the best lipstick lethal for the year. My advice to you is be careful when you walk outside in Brisbane because you might get a Broncos fan on the moon without having a crack at you. I've got to say, in addition to that as well, I think it's quite pathetic that we look at the NRL and think, jeez, put them on a pedestal, Jimmy, the NRL is nothing on the AFL. We have a far better competition, a far better game and although State of Origin was good back in the day, it had its time. There's a reason why it got cut. No, I agree with that. But the NRL State of Origin is pretty cool. Appreciate it for what it is, but I'm with Lee, we've got something pretty cool as well.
