Newcastle in Talks With Saudi Side Over Miguel Almiron Sale
- Newcastle are in talks with a Saudi Pro League club for Almiron's sale.
- The Magpies are aiming to improve their financial situation at St James' Park.
- It's unclear what fee Newcastle will be looking to receive for Almiron
Newcastle United are now in talks with an unnamed Saudi Pro League side over the sale of Miguel Almiron, according to Sky Sports reporter Keith Downie.
Almiron has played a crucial role for the Magpies over the years, but he's starting to see his game time decrease as the North East club continue to spend big to improve their squad. As they aim to comply with profit and sustainability regulations in the Premier League, some players will need to be sold.
Eddie Howe and his team have already recouped a hefty amount of cash in recent days, but an opportunity to offload Almiron could be next on the agenda.

Miguel Almiron
Sky Sports reporter Downie has now confirmed that Newcastle are now in talks with a Saudi Pro League side over the sale of Almiron, with the Magpies looking to cash in on the Paraguayan international...
"Newcastle United are in talks with a Saudi Pro-League club over the sale of Miguel Almiron. Newcastle could be set to cash in on the Paraguayan international, with the Saudi transfer window opening today. Unclear the fee & to which Saudi club, but understand talks have been taking place regarding the 30-year-old."
Almiron struggled to produce last season after flourishing under Eddie Howe during the 2022/2023 campaign. The 30-year-old, labelled as 'important' by Howe, is reaching the latter stages of his career, so cashing in amid financial troubles could be a smart move.
Almiron turned down the chance to move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Shabab during the January transfer window after the two clubs verbally agreed a fee, according to journalist Ben Jacobs in a conversation with GIVEMESPORT. It will be interesting to see whether Almiron would now consider a move to the Middle East after seeing his game time decrease last term.

The Premier League's profit and sustainability regulations have hampered the spending of many clubs in England's top flight. The most recent financial year ended on June 30th, with the Magpies forced to offload a host of players before then to continue complying with the financial rulings.
Newcastle have managed to cash in on both Yankuba Minteh and Elliot Anderson, who have joined Brighton & Hove Albion and Nottingham Forest respectively. As per Sky Sports, the Magpies have received around £75m by offloading the duo. Considering the lack of impact both players have made at St James' Park and Newcastle's need for cash, it was a necessary move from the club.
