Jimmy Bullard furious as he threatens England fans who hurled booze at Gareth Southgate

A bullish Jimmy Bullard aimed a threat at the England fans who threw beer cups at Gareth Southgate after their draw to Slovenia.

The Three Lions boss faced the hurling of cups towards him after the disappointing 0-0 draw against Slovenia last month, despite the result granting England top spot in Group C and passage into the knockout stages of Euro 2024.

The behaviour from a portion of fans angered the former Wigan and Fulham midfielder who displayed his disdain for those particular set of supporters while praising Southgate for his remaining calm amid all the scrutiny that's been aimed his way.

"If I see a fan throw a bottle at a manager or do something like that again, they're going to have me to deal with because I ain't having it," the 45-year-old said on Instagram. "It's really starting to do my nut in, fans booing and fans leaving the knockout stage [game] on the 80th minute, give your heads a wobble.

"Gareth Southgate has held his tongue really well, I'm not sitting on the line if I'm Gareth Southgate, I am absolutely going to ruin you because that's disgusting what he's had to deal with," he added.

With a quarter-final tie against Switzerland this Saturday (July 6) awaiting England, speculation surrounding Southgate's future has remained strife despite the England boss stating that he won't discuss it until after the tournament has ended.

With his contract up in December, the 53-year-old discussed the mounting negativity towards him due to the poor performances shown by his side thus far in Germany. "Our world is different at the moment and I feel that is probably because of me," said Southgate.

"I’m not going to change that so it’s pointless me spending energy (on it). But I’m not going to back away from it. I understand the feeling towards me, but I want the fans to back the players."
