We had earlier reported that Suraj Venjaramoodu, the National award-winner, who has appeared in recent films such as Grrr and Nadanna Sambhavam is all set to make his OTT debut with a web series titled Nagendran’s Honeymoons. The makers of the film have now taken to their social media to release the first teaser of the upcoming web series.
A Funny Teaser
The teaser opens with a conversation between Suraj's character and his mother, where Suraj talks about his desire to flee his little village, and his solution to the problem was to move to the Gulf, or Persia, as many folks collectively refer to those countries. But he has no idea how to get there. The one quick fix suggested by his friend (played by Prashant Alexander) is to get married. This is followed by quick glimpses of the five women whom Nagendran possibly has in mind.
About Nagendran’s Honeymoons
The makers of the web series had announced the news of the show along with the first look poster. The tagline of the series reads, “1 life, 5 wives.” The poster was accompanied with the caption that read, "Big dreams, bigger laughs’
The show is directed by Nithin Renji Panicker, who is known for directing films such as Kasaba and Kaaval. The makers haven't announced a release date yet. Cinematographer Nikhil S Praveen and music director Ranjin Raj, who both were part of Nithin's previous film Kaaval, have worked in this new series.
Interestingly the show was first titled Madhuvidhu. It is not known as to why the makers decided to change the name. The series is produced by the filmmaker under his home banner Nithin Renji Panicker Productions. It stars an ensemble cast that includes Shwetha Menon, Kalabhavan Shajon, Prashant Alexander, Grace Antony, Kani Kasumi, Niranjana Anoop, Alfie Panjikaran and Ammu Abhirami.
This series is the fourth Malayalam show to be released on Hotstar, following Kerala Crime File, Master Piece, and Perilloor Premier League.
Suraj Venjaramoodu is currently busy with his Tamil debut starring Vikram in the lead. Titled Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2, it is directed by SU Arun Kumar. Suraj Venjaramoodu is also a part of Adios Amigo which features Asif Ali as well. The film is directed by debutant Nahas Nazar. The actor is also turning producer with a project tiled ED-Extra Decent, in which he is also playing the lead role.
