EU companies to sign 40 billion euros' worth of deals with Egypt
European companies will sign more than €40 billion worth of deals with Egyptian firms spanning a wide range of industries. The news was announced by President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen at the EU Egypt Investment Conference in Cairo. The two day conference aims to advance the implementation of a strategic partnership between the EU and Egypt, which included more than €7 billion in aid for the cash strapped Middle Eastern nation. The agreement covers political relations, economic stability, investments and trade, as well as migration and security matters. Von der Leyen also touted investments in green energy and digital training. Remarking on Egypt's goal of becoming a clean energy hub.
