Nita and Mukesh Ambani to host a mass wedding ceremony for underprivileged ahead of Anant and Radhika's wedding
Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani and his wife Nita Ambani are known for their philanthropy and grand gestures, and their latest endeavour is no exception. Ahead of the wedding of their youngest son, Anant Ambani, to Radhika Merchant, the Ambanis are set to host a mass wedding ceremony for underprivileged people. This noble gesture is in line with the family's long-standing tradition of giving back to society.
The mass wedding ceremony is scheduled for July 2, 2024, at the Swami Vivekanand Vidyamandir in Palghar. News agency ANI reported that this event is part of the pre-wedding celebrations for Anant and Radhika. The ceremony will start at 4:30 PM and will bring together couples from disadvantaged backgrounds, providing them with a memorable wedding experience that they might otherwise have struggled to afford.
Anant Ambani, the youngest son of Mukesh and Nita Ambani, and Radhika Merchant, the daughter of industrialist Viren Merchant, will tie the knot at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai on July 12, 2024. This high-profile wedding has been the talk of the town, with preparations in full swing and invitations already distributed to guests.
Guests invited to the main wedding event on July 12 have started receiving the 'Save The Date' invitations, which are presented in a traditional red and gold card. This invitation discloses some of the details of the three-day wedding celebrations. The ceremonies will begin on July 12 with the auspicious Shubh Vivah, where the dress code is Indian traditional. July 13 is designated for the Shubh Aashirwad, with the dress code being Indian formal. The festivities will conclude on July 14 with the Mangal Utsav or wedding reception, where the dress code is Indian chic. All these events will take place at the Jio World Centre in Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), Mumbai.
The distribution of the wedding invites began earlier this month, with Nita Ambani visiting the Kashi Vishwanath Temple to offer the first invitation and seek blessings. Reflecting on her visit, she said, "I have just got Baba Bholenath's darshan. I am feeling very blessed... As per the Hindu tradition, we first take blessings of the Lord. I have offered the wedding invite to Baba... I am very happy. I have come here after 10 years. I am happy to see the development and Kashi Vishwanath corridor, NaMo Ghat, solar energy plants and cleanliness. I am very happy to see the change."
The pre-wedding celebrations have already included a three-day event in Gujarat's Jamnagar earlier this year, attended by some of the biggest names in Bollywood. The star-studded event featured performances by the three Khans—Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Aamir Khan. International superstar Rihanna was flown in for a special performance, and Diljit Dosanjh also set the stage on fire with his energetic act.
This mass wedding ceremony is not just a celebration of love but also a testament to the Ambani family's commitment to social responsibility. By organising such an event, they are ensuring that numerous underprivileged couples have a joyous and dignified start to their married lives. The gesture underscores the importance of community and support, particularly for those who may not have the means to afford a grand wedding.
In a society where weddings are often marked by opulence and extravagance, the Ambanis' initiative brings attention to the essence of marriage—a union based on love, respect, and shared dreams. This mass wedding ceremony will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact on the lives of the couples involved and serve as an inspiration for others to contribute to the welfare of the less fortunate in meaningful ways.
