Met Office Wednesday evening weather forecast 26/06/2024
Hello there, welcome to your Wednesday evening weather update from the Met Office. Hot again today across England and Wales, but we do see a change coming in from the West, all courtesy of a maturing but deep area of low pressure, bringing with it unseasonably strong winds across the north through Thursday and into Friday, even with some coastal gales and also some showery. Bursts of showers likely on Friday, but some quieter conditions further South across England and Wales with some sunshine. And temperatures won't be as high wherever you are. However, through Wednesday evening and overnight. It is a pleasant evening but it is rather muggy still. So another uncomfortable night for some across England and Wales. This trailing front here will bring some showery rain to Scotland. And notice the cloud increasing across southern Scotland, northwest England, Wales and the West Country. You could see some showery bursts of rain at the same time. Low clouding the East Coast will tend to disappear as more cloud arrives across Northern Ireland and western Scotland later. Temperatures here 12 or 13°C. So first thing then on Thursday morning, bright for many. This front here is mostly cloud by around 8:00 to 9:00 in the morning, perhaps the odd spot or two of rain either side. You'll see some sunshine. At the same time. Cloud will move in across Northern Ireland with outbreaks of rain and rain will arrive across western Scotland and push ever eastwards, turning showery across the far north of England. A few showers running in particularly across the Isle of Man as well as the far north of Wales. Here temperatures 16 to 20°C, but we do hang on to some higher heat E Midlands eastwards, so 2425°C. And notice the winds will pick up particularly through the evening time on Thursday. So this is the centre of the low strong winds, gales along the coast associated with some outbreaks of rain which could turn intense, especially across the western side of Scotland, showery across Northern Ireland, northern England and North Wales into Friday morning. Stronger winds continue as we head through the day across Scotland. Elsewhere, it's a fine day, The cloud will build, we'll see some sunshine coming through. Temperatures are good for few degrees lower wherever you'll notice the difference, particularly across the South coming in around 19 to 22 Celsius, 16 or 17 further north. The outlook through the next few days. For more details of the 10 day trend, check out our YouTube channel and I'll see you later.
