Jeremy Allen White Praises Ayo Edebiri's Directing for 'The Bear': "She is a Natural" | THR Video
So we know Iowa directs an episode this season. What was it like having her on that side of the camera? It was great. Like she's like, she was a natural. She's really confident. She's such like a, a, a beautiful, intuitive performer. And I think that the same goes for for her as a, as a director. Yeah, it was it was wonderful to witness. Would you ever want to do that on this show? Direct? I don't know. Like, I think about I, I thought about directing a lot before, Like, it's so weird, like. Like for with acting, it's something that I feel like I really like there's so many people that want to act. There's so many people that like really want to do it. And I really want to do it. And it really feels like necessary for me as a person to be able to do it. And I don't feel that way about directing. And I know how many people like would just like kill to like have a moment to direct and, and, and so, yeah, I mean, like if one day the material comes along or I'm like, yeah, I feel like that's my story or story that I have to tell. Yeah, sure. Maybe. But I don't know, I'm like sensitive to to telling somebody else's story or a story that I, you know, I don't know. I feel like I'm not put on this earth to, to tell in some way. Yeah, you've got enough to do on this show already. How do you feel like the anxiety level of this season compares to the past two? I mean, it's all geared up like we're, you know, we're we're running this like fine dining establishment this time and we're going for a star. It's it's real. Carmy's out for perfection from himself. Any demands perfection from from everyone around him. So the stakes are are raised. It's it's, it's intense.
